Memory Care
Providing comfort and care to families most in need.
It’s not always clear at first what the best course of action is when you’re caring for a loved one with advancing dementia. And when you finally realize that you need help, choosing who is best to care for them, who to trust with your loved one, can be a terrifying prospect.
But VITALIA® is here to help.
At VITALIA®, our staff trains to provide the highest quality personalized care so you can step back from being the caregiver and feel comfort knowing that your loved one is in good hands.
The neighborhood is structured to offer an engaging and supportive environment with comfort and ease of navigation in mind. By focusing on dignity, quality of life, and independence, we strive to ensure all residents feel respected and cared for as they age, regardless of what they remember today or tomorrow.
Memory Care Apartments
Memory Care at VITALIA® is about maximizing every resident’s quality of life, hour-to-hour, day-to-day. Our apartments were designed with seniors in mind, ensuring simple and immediate access to all the necessities of life. Residents are able to move about freely, enjoying the company of friends and staff while having immediate access to their apartments whenever they want to return home.
Assigned Life Enrichment Coordinators
Quality care begins with strong relationships. At VITALIA®, we pair Life Enrichment Coordinators and residents as a team so that personalized connection, trust, and friendship can be developed over time. By maintaining consistency we are able to focus on developing communication skills unique to each resident and identify small changes in health and wellness.
Security isn’t restriction. Safety isn’t constant monitoring. This is a resident’s home and they need to be comfortable and cared for without feeling like Big Brother is always watching them. We make every effort to integrate resident safety in discreet ways. The design of the memory care cottage focuses not just on comfort and ease of navigation, but on security.

Life Stations
Specialized activity stations, called Life Stations™, are strategically placed throughout our memory care cottage to promote engagement opportunities. The Life Stations resemble specific aspects of life in order to encourage engagement and interaction. Our Life Enrichment Coordinators also create life boxes that are specific to each resident!
Caring for a person with memory loss can be an exhausting, frustrating endeavor. Some caregivers can feel cornered and as though restricting activity is the only solution. VITALIA® has the training and resources to do the insurmountable tasks and make sure that residents become re-engaged with life.

Specialized Dining
At VITALIA®, we know that lack of proper nutrition only exacerbates a bad health situation. It is an especially prevalent problem for those with advancing dementia, as changing tastes and appetites can make it hard for them to eat. Our carefully crafted dining program engages the individual and their senses in order to rouse the appetite so that residents stay fed and strong.
Alzheimer’s, and other memory issues, can make once routine and automatic habits difficult. That’s why we make sure that residents are bathed, groomed, and even pampered! Regular trips to the salon make residents feel refreshed and new.
